On the 20th of March, French language will be celebrated everywhere around the world : form Vietnam to Mali, by trough Egypt and Quebec, the International Organisation for Francophonie (IOF) is celebrating its sixteenth French language world day
An international program.
The Francophonie means over 60 countries in the whole world, unified by the same attraction for French language. But Francophonie means also common values. This year, the general theme is « live together, even different ».Not that surprising, then, that the celebrations will go around the all world, with some symbolic spots :

Andorra : This small kingdom between France and Spain has been among the latest to join The IOF, in 2006. And that’s also there that Abdou Diouf, former Senegalese president and actual general secretary of the OIF will start the celebrations.
Egypt, Alexandria : « The festival of words », at the Senghor university in Alexandria, will gather teachers, students and other French speakers for a funny experience : rewriting the French novel « Désordre intérieur », by Rémi Bertrand, but using as much synonymous as possible.
United-States, New York : The « Big Apple » has be chosen for a big party, with concerts and awards ceremony : the golden “Venet price for Francophonie” will be attributed to an American personality or institution, regarding his action in favour of Francophonie and its valu es.
Australia, Sydney : The French Language Day in Sydney will offer many workshops for students and a big party for everyone, with a special focus on the French speaking Arab world culture.
